Restrictions in Parts of Valley Continue,Train service Suspended,Educational Institutions Closed | KNO

Curfew like restrictions continued in parts of Kashmir valley for the 3rd consecutive day today and educational intuitions remained closed as separatists have called for march to Tral in Pulwama district .

District Magistrate Srinagar, Dr Farooq Ahmad Lone, said that in view of the prevailing law and order situation, strict restrictions will remain imposed today (May 30) within the territorial jurisdiction of seven Police Stations of Srinagar district, including Khanyar, Nowhatta, Safakadal, M R Gunj, Rainawari, Kralkhud and Maisuma. He ordered that all the colleges and schools in district Srinagar will remain closed today. Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan said class work in all the schools/Higher Secondary Institutions and Colleges of Kashmir valley shall remain suspended today as a precautionary measure. The curfew like restrictions continued in parts of Kashmir on Monday while in rest of the Valley normal life remained paralysed due to strike called by separatists against the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen commander, Sabzar Bhat, his associate and a civilian on Saturday in Tral area of Pulwama district. The curfew like restrictions were imposed in most parts of the Valley including Srinagar and Anantnag on Sunday. The train services also continued to remain suspended on the 3rd consecutive day today due to security reasons. The prepaid mobile telephone services also remained suspended since Saturday evening. Besides suspension of outgoing and incoming call facility on prepaid mobile phones and the mobile internet services remained suspended in the Valley today. A group of youth pelted stones on the 182 Bn CRPF Camp at Tahab in Pulwama district on Monday. Government forces used maximum restraint and chased them away.
